Hello, my name is Mya and simply put, I am a creative geek. More to the point, I am a XHTML/CSS coder with a decade worth of design/maintenance experience and a blossoming love for online marketing.

My introduction to Information Technology came in 1997 after receiving my first laptop. It was my freshman year of college and while I originally planned to study Criminal Justice, I found myself captivated by the World Wide Web. Never one to shy away from learning something new, particularly on the computer, I taught myself HTML.

At first, building websites was a hobby... a passion... but through word of mouth and luck, I turned my passion into a career. Along the way, I learned how to replace one person's head for another in Photoshop, move objects based on X, Y and Z coordinates in Vue and manage to teach first timer computer users the difference between a left click and a right click.

What I've Done

Note: Due to contractual agreements not all recent work is shown.

  • The Drain Has Arms
  • Fennguard Stables
  • OptimalSecurity Magazine
  • Dog Pack Rescue Postcard
  • Spread Firefox and Thunderbird Flyers
  • Experimental Flyer in CorelDRAW

What I Bring to the Table

What I offer is ten years of knowledge designing and maintaining websites; familiarity with a variety of programs including Photoshop and Illustrator; ability to hand code XHTML, CSS and XML; experience working on Mac and PC; years of customer support experience; and flexibility.

Currently, I work as an in-house web designer/webmaster. I also double as a graphic artist, PowerPoint specialist, Mac/PC tutor, document creator and general go-to-gal when there's something you want done on the computer but can't figure out how. Not to say I know everything or for that matter can do everything... far from it. I learn by doing is all. ;-)
